As a System Test Engineer you will work in a cross-functional team, with system designers,
software developers and HW developers. You will test cutting-edge products in optical networks, prior
to release to customers, ensuring great quality, performance and customer experience.
You will be part of an international team, spread by our different locations and in close collaboration with
the rest of the R&D organization. Teams working directly with customers will count with you to give them
the best support.

Role & Responsibilities:
- Review Product Requirements and develop a comprehensive test plan to validate customer use-cases;
- Work with Design, Hardware and Software teams on requirement specification;
- Specify the test cases. The test scope spans across various areas like Network Provisioning, Configuration, QoS, Fault Management, Conformance, Security, APIs, Traffic Restoration, Load & Performance,... ;
- Define test automation plans, create them, contribute to automation framework and automation maintenance;
- Execute the tests, report the defects and of test execution and defect analysis and provide detailed reports;
- Support Hardware and Software teams on defect analysis;
- Plan, commission and maintain the required testbeds in the R&D Lab and the respective test equipment;
- Support customer teams in demos, trials, tests acceptance and troubleshooting;
- Actively contribute to keep improving the product and processes.

requisitos/requirements
Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, Physics Engineering or equivalent experience;
- Good knowledge of Optical Networks systems, ROADM/DWDM technologies and relevant standards (OTN/SONET/SDH /ETH/GMPLS) will be highly appreciated;
- Experience in optical test equipment (Traffic generator, Power Meter, OTDR, Optical attenuators, OSA,...) will be a plus;
- Programming/Scripting Skills: Python, Robot;
- Fluent English, spoken and written;
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail combined with ability to see the big picture;
- Responsible and accountable;
- Good communication skills, teamwork spirit, proactivity, continuous learning motivation and ability to cope with concurrent projects;
- Availability to travel.
