At Capitalise we're looking for a Software Engineer (Back-End) to join our team.

We are Capitalise.com, the super platform for businesses and their advisers to access financial services. We are a product-oriented FinTech start-up based in the UK and have closed our Series A in 2019. We have won government grants and award nominations for innovation.

Capitalise.com is building out our technology and product teams working with superstar engineers and product managers.

Are you passionate about software engineering and seeing your products be used out in the real world? 

Joining as a software engineer you will be responsible for building APIs, microservices and workers to power our platform.We are pro open source as a company and so expect an architect to have good knowledge of leading open source frameworks.

You will be joining a team of engineers and technologists who are working to build a high quality modern SaaS product.

We’re looking to grow our engineering team in Portugal to continue our scale with 3,000 advisers using our platform.

Your role will be to

• Designing, building and maintaining microservices in your team
• Deploy your lovely code through the CI/CD process
• Participate in architecture, DevOps and product design conversations
• Building scalable, maintainable code aligned to SOLID principles
• Work to maintain a high level of quality control and development flows

You should apply if you have

Software engineering

• Deep knowledge of TypeScript, Kotlin and Java-type languages patterns
• Experience with frameworks including SpringBoot, NestJS and node.js
• *nix, command line and experience with containers (we use Kubernetes)
• Experience ensuring quality in your code including testing and code reviews
• Experience databases including MySQL, MongoDB and Postgres
• Knowledge of asynchronous architecture and queuing systems

Engineering processes:

• Knowledge of working with web and mobile in Scrum/Kanban/XP environments
• Be familiar in designing a solution, managing dependencies and planning tasks
• Great communication in English to work with the product team
• Experience in presenting technology strategy and solution design
