The MTT mission is to pioneer the future of electronics manufacturing for Aptiv’s Advanced Safety and User Experience business units. These teams define the manufacturing building blocks for new technologies and set the best practices for manufacturing globally.  The teams consist of global members from all manufacturing sites and/or design centers at Aptiv. 

About this position

The SMT MTT Lead Process Engineer will provide technical leadership to drive continuous improvements throughout the global organization related to solder printing, chip placement, and reflow soldering, and material handling processes. Furthermore, will manage several continuous improvement projects simultaneously involving multiple SMT technologies and interact with all global manufacturing facilities and design centers which will requirement excellent interpersonal and communication skill.

Responsibilities and duties

- Develop expertise in all elements of SMT Bill of Process (BoP);

- Lead editing and updating of SMT process documentation (Required practices, SOW, PFMEA);

- Provide support to global PML’s to drive SMT process and materials standardization;

- Work with industry suppliers to provide robust performance of equipment, materials, and components;

- Conduct and support Line Side Review process audits of global PML’s;

- Optimize process setup and design to support SMT equipment utilization and material flow.

Must Have (Basic Qualifications)

- Bachelor in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar;

- At least 4 years of experience in electronics manufacturing processes;

- Knowledge of SMT equipment, materials and processing requirements;

- Project management experience;

- Knowledge of circuit board assembly industry standards;

- Good leadership skills;

- Availability to travel (may be up to 25% of your work time);

- English proficiency (spoken and written).

Nice to Have (preferred qualifications)

- Master’s degree in management or Engineering;

- International travel experience.
