You will join the company's digital department and help develop a brand new workflow system (in agile), working in an embedded team (Designers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, Front End and Back End Developers, QAs).

Description

Our client's UX Research Lead and CA UX Lead will support you in designing and establishing are search programme to validate design decisions instead of designing through assumption.

You will:

  • Develop a research plan with the other UX designers on the team, business analysts and product owner to answer gaps in the current knowledge around our users expectations, needs, goals and pain points.
  • Work with our Research lead to create and keep updated a panel of users
  • Recruit, organise, plan, and run workshops, studies and research activities
  • Share findings within the project, programme, and design team and feed them back into the product strategy
  • Get the team involved in research activities at every opportunity to emphasize the importance of user research
  • In addition to user research activities, ensure other sources of user feedback and insights are monitored and utilised to derive meaningful insights. These include: surveys carried out by other parts of the business, customer support databases, analytics, stakeholder knowledge, etc
  • Ensure there is a plan to keep explicit track of these rather than letting them happen in an ad-hoc way

You'll be an essential part of daily product development, actively collaborating within cross-functional teams from your first day. Our client works in a Lean way and continuously look for improvements both to the product and to our ways of working and process. You will:

  • Collaborate with your product manager, other designers, business analysts, developers,and business colleagues to build solutions to user needs iteratively and quickly
  • Collaboratively design, test, and develop solutions with your team
  • Participate in daily stand-ups with your delivery team
  • Play an active role in the daily delivery of working software
  • Our client's UX ethos is to think and work visually;
  • Create visual artefacts that help the team agree and get aligned on issues from high-level strategy to user journey details. Use these to frame team conversations

Profile

  • Worked at senior level, and have demonstrable experience in carrying out all or most of the UX activities described above (user journeys, design/experience maps,personas/archetypes, parallelisation of conceptual vision work with daily delivery artefacts, user research and metrics and information architecture to name a few)
  • Taken the lead on the strategy and design of at least one product of service with complex workflows (preferably part of a larger program of work), ideally across multiple brands
  • Successfully managed conflicting priorities and voices and helped delivery teams cut through the noise by demonstrating and evangelising customer-centric design thinking
  • Successfully influenced product direction through your insights gathered from user research, or other user metrics
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering digital products/services by working cross-functionally (product managers, business analysts, developers, front-end developers and quality assurance engineers) and adopting an incremental Lean UX approach.
