Description

As a Senior UX Designer you'll take the lead on complex projects and tackle a program of work, supporting the program UX. Lead in ensuring the user experience is consistent and user focused across complex publishing workflows. You can expect to be contributing to and/or conducting user research to discover the requirements of stakeholders, journal editors and scientific writers who are involved in the process.

This is a domain-wide role and your two main areas of focus will be:

  • To work with and support the UX Domain Lead in driving domain-wide initiatives that help increase the UX maturity and user-customer focus in the domain
  • To support requests for UX work on initiatives not yet fully allocated in the domain, such as potential incoming work or quick prototype concepts, as well as support UX designers in teams at times of greater demand to ensure UX does not become a blocker to delivery.
  • You'll also pair with designers from across multiple teams to make sure that the delivery of the end-to-end experiences is being coordinated and approached in a customer-centric way.

 

Profile

  • Spend some time embedded in each delivery team, to shadow the team UX designers and product owners and get up to speed quickly with the goals, challenges and current state of play of the domain
  • Contribute to summarising the findings from the quite extensive existing volume of research to understand what knowledge we have about our users and their behaviours in relation to critical business goals
  • Work with the UX Domain Lead to understand the UX strategy for the global team and the UX discipline goals and initiatives specific to Content Acquisition
  • Provide tactical support (design, analysis and/or research) for current programme initiatives already in-flight
  • Get to know the work of other domains and their teams and especially where there are potential overlaps and shared goals across multiple domains to help identify opportunities for closer collaboration and avoid duplication or conflict
  • Gain an understanding of business models and editorial strategies in general, and how they apply to the products you are working on and the choices being made about them
  • Support the UX designers in each team develop relationships with stakeholders and help engage them engage those stakeholders in the product development process and user research, with the aim of including and utilising their expertise
