Product and Technology

The Indie Campers Product and Technology team creates new features for our customers to go on amazing road trips in all of Europe by developing our website and booking platform. As part of the technology team in this rapidly growing business, you will develop products used by our users and participate actively in building a marketplace community. We are looking for Senior Ruby on Rails Engineers to work (remote or hybrid mode, in one of our Hubs in Lisbon / Recife) in a very friendly and energetic environment and be part of an amazing team. Lisbon Hub
Our Lisbon office is located in the city center, known for its beautiful landscape, history and vibrant cultural scene.
It is a place where our Product and Technology, Operations, Marketing and Customer Excellence teams meet informally, co-create together, have fun during lunch and enjoy our lovely barbecues at our terrace.

Recife Hub
We will establish our presence in Recife, most likely in a co-working space in Porto Digital. 

What you’ll do

• Create, build, improve and optimize our web applications, by implementing new practices in continuous integration and delivery.
• Build customer-faced features that will increase sales revenue and create great experiences for our travellers.
• Ensure quality of our products and work closely with our product team to establish scalable solutions.
• Work in a team that supports your individual growth by providing you with challenging tasks and the freedom to take new opportunities.

Who you are

• 6+ years of product development work.
• 6+ years of work with Agile, Scrum or Kanban methodologies.
• Solid understanding of web applications architecture and all of its layers.
• Experienced working with Ruby on Rails, Python, Javascript, React, Vue, Components, and other similar frameworks.
• Enjoy coding, testing, debugging and automation techniques.
• You are comfortable with deploying and operating as a technical leader and mentor other developers.
• Report directly to our Head of Engineering and commit to constant learning and improvement.
• Good communication skills.
• Organised and self-sufficient.

This is a remote job, with the option to relocate to Lisbon after 3-6 months.
