Job Description Sage is seeking a highly-motivated Senior Developer Engineer to join our product delivery team in Oporto. Our team is cross-functional and has responsibility for delivering mission critical web services, components and applications for Sage.

As a developer in Sage you will design, develop and deliver high quality products or systems that exceed our customers’ expectations. You will be joining a motivated, talented and collaborative development team who work with teams world-wide sharing their knowledge and experience.

You Will Influence, Collaborate And Co-ordinate With

• Development Team Leader – for direction and escalation.
• Architecture, Security & Design team - to ensure that it is possible to implement the proposed designs, standards and quality.
• Testers - to ensure deliverables have been fully understood and tested.
• Service Management/Customer Services - to provide technical support, as required, to assist with the prompt resolution of issues.

Person Specification

Key Skills

The successful applicant will have very strong engineering, troubleshooting, analysis and problem solving skills. You'll have strong experience in debugging and profiling and have taken an active role in development and design discussions.

Essentials

• C#/.NET (ideally 4.0 or later)
• Visual Basic 6
• SQL (ideally SQL Server and/or MySQL)
• Git
• Proved Experience in Data treatment
• Fluent in English

Desirable

• Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure
• Other development languages / frameworks used in development: Ruby, PHP, Python, NodeJS, AngularJS, Java, HTML, CSS, Javascript, JQuery…..
• Experience of developing service APIs
• Understanding of web and/or desktop application security
• ASP.Net MVC
• .NET Core and/or React

In addition, you’ll have a sound understanding of web application development and architecture, application security and network technologies.
Proven track record of at least two years in Management Software development.

The ability to switch between technologies is essential, as is the ability to solve problems whilst working under pressure and to tight time scales.

Experience of Agile/SCRUM is also highly desirable.
