Summary:
The Python Developer will be responsible for the maintenance and implementation of the company’s web application. The company is based in New York and has built a SaaS platform that empowers continuous employee feedback to drive high performance.
This person will be reporting to the company’s engineering lead. The keys to success in this position are providing feasible solutions from a technical perspective and communicating effectively with the product and engineering team. Strong backend development skills are required, in particular with Python and Django or Flask framework. Strong experience with SQL databases is highly valued, as well as exposure to AWS.
The company’s growth and success relies on the continuous delivery of new functionality for the product. This product is one of the hottest HR platforms, having received funding last year.

Objectives:
In 3 months, be fully up to speed with the application and be able to deliver tickets in a similar amount of time to the other engineers in the team.
In 6 months, suggest improvements to the implementation of certain bugs / features or to the overall architecture of the application.
In 12 months, mentor new team members joining the team and take ownership for a certain part of the application.
Communicate effectively with the engineering manager and with other backend developers to establish priorities and plan a roadmap.
Suggest the development of relevant features and fixes to potential problems.
