The job

We're looking to hire someone keen to have their work served 50+ million times per month in Portugal, and growing. We have a complex Microservices setup with 25+ services keeping many different features alive.

Join our team of seven developers and designers. We all know how to work with each other in a flat hierarchy that allows us to have considerable ownership of our tasks, so that we can continuously improve and launch a variety of functionalities on observador.pt and make sure our journalism has the impact it needs to have.

Requirements

• Previous relevant professional experience
• Very good programming skills with PHP and MVC design pattern
• Very good programming skills with Javascript, HTML and CSS
• Solid experience with MySQL or Postgres
• Experience designing and developing Rest APIs
• Ease working with Linux terminal
• Fluency in Portuguese, good English knowledge

Nice to haves notions of

• GIT
• PHP in Wordpress context
• Redis or others NoSql databases
• Linux systems administration
• Google cloud/Amazon Web Services or other cloud platforms
• Managing infrastructure with code (like Docker, Kubernetes, Chef, etc.)
• Knowledge of message queue systems (like Rabbit, ActiveMQ, etc)

• Location: Alvalade, Lisbon or Remote (close to PT timezone)
• Salary depending on experience
