We are looking for a full time English-speaking Senior back-end PHP developer, with a passion for coding, that would like an active role in both designing and implementing our back-end API systems.

You will become an important part of our growing small international development team, developing our Laravel API's and back-end engines for an IT security related (TLS/SSL) Software as a Service, that has already helped thousands of IT administrators. Our goal is to launch this service in Portugal by the end of 2021, with several expansions planned in the coming years.

Development decisions and leadership are based around our technical background, focusing on adding new functionality and features, to improve our customer's experience. The front end is a React client consuming the API's you will help build.

A few of your responsibilities:

• Design and implement our web API applications using the Laravel framework
• Create back-end engines, consuming API's and external scripts
• Participate in design and code reviews
• Ensuring security of our customer data

Requirements:

• Able to communicate complex ideas and solutions with your team in English - B1 or higher
• 3+ years of coding experience with ability to design complex API's using PHP.
• Resident within EU or have completed a relevant higher education degree together with at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Willing to relocate to Lisbon, Portugal

Experience with any of the following would be a bonus:

• A framework such as Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter
• Object Oriented Programming
• Designing and consuming API’s
• Python, Java, Perl, C++, C# or similar back-end languages
• Use of and understanding of SSL/TLS, encryption, ciphers, hashing
• Using the Scrum agile framework, test driven development, Git, Jira
