About Quantum team at R&D

We are a newly started team located in Lisbon, working in the area of quantum information and cryptography. Considering the recent trend towards privacy solutions offered by the quantum technology, this team is an initiative towards making a mark in this area in Portugal. We aim at applying for more research projects by gathering expertise and experience, as the team grows, with each project.

Job description

This position is for an experimentalist to work on the optical setup for the ongoing project. Contribution to other (future) projects within the Quantum team is also expected. We count on your expertise to be responsible for the specific tasks assigned. You will ensure profitability through staffing, upselling, and renewals. You will also be required to:

• Have experience with handling optical components and can start working in the lab located in Lisbon office;
• Have a good understanding of the working of standard optical devices, as well as theoretical knowledge in optical physics;
• Understand the progress of the ongoing project, and help make decisions related to technical challenges that may arise at various levels (implementation in particular).

• The mandatory requirement of hands-on experience with optics experiments;
• Background in optical communication (theory and experiments);
• Ability to help his/her teammates and share ideas;
• Programming skills (C, C++, Python);
• Masters/PhD in Physics/Mathematics/Engineering or similar areas, oriented towards optics and optical communication;
• Fluent in English.
