At Capitalise we're looking for a Junior Test / QA Engineer to join our team!

We are Capitalise.com, an adviser-led financial marketplace for businesses and their advisers to compare and apply for financial products.We are a product-oriented FinTech start-up based in the UK and have closed our Series A in 2019. We have won government grants and award nominations for innovation.

Capitalise.com is building out our technology and product teams working with superstar engineers and product managers.

We’re looking to grow our engineering team in Portugal to continue our scale with 3,000 advisers using our platform. We are pro open source as a company and so expect an architect to have good knowledge of leading open source frameworks. 

As a Junior Test Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring overall product quality and maintaining a high level of usability and accessibility through a mixture of automated and manual testing.

You will be joining a team of engineers and technologists who are working to build a high quality modern SaaS product - so you’ll drive use of the latest QA technology giving you freedom to bring your own improvements to life to push our testing to the next level.

Your role will be to

• Reproducing the defect, isolating and tracing it
• Reporting and documenting defects
• Tracking defects status throughout its lifecycle
• Executing manual testing to ensure the quality of release
• Performing exploratory testing to support creating a test plan of a feature/fix
• Performing usability testing to help improve future designs and implementations
• Identify UI and visual issues
• Specify test cases into the requirements of a user story
• Escalating issues when E2E pipeline breaks
• Preparing test case scenarios (pre requisites of a test/data setup)
• Understanding regression testing
• Work from test plans for basic bodies of work

You should apply if you have

Testing and quality assurance:

• 1+ years working on digital products in any role.
• Background working with version control systems (GitHub, BitBucket etc)
• Familiarity with writing and maintaining test cases
• Familiarity with Cypress, Selenium, Protractor or other testing framework
• Knowledge of Javascript and/or OOP languages like Typescript, Java, C# is appreciated
• A natural approach to troubleshooting and investigation

Digital project delivery:

• Great communication in English to work with the product team
• Technical background working with open source technologies is valued

This role is currently only open to candidates who live and work in Portugal, and do not require a Visa.
