SHL Portugal is recruiting a Junior Robotics Engineer for TURFLYNX, part of The Toro Company who is now seeking to expand its robotics engineering team in Portugal.

Job Purpose:

This position is responsible for engineering the design of mobile robotic systems, assisting in the release, production, and service follow-up of assigned new or revised autonomous products.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Create and test new robotic system concepts, products, or improvements to existing products.

• Create engineering design for new and improved robotic systems or products which meet market, safety, quality, performance, reliability, and durability requirements.
• Prepare control and automated test software. Conduct hardware-in-the-loop and field testing of new or existing robotic solutions. Coordinate design with others assigned to the project to ensure integration into the overall solution.
• Responsible for design decisions related to algorithms, implementation strategies, and production of robotic system software, including the production toolchain and the deployment at scale.
• Provide assistance to customer support in the deployment of new robotic products, including design and development of specialized tools.
• Communicate with supervisor regarding project status and issues that may require assistance.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Computer, Software, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or Aeronautical Engineering.
• Linux development experience.
• C/C++/Python programming skills.
• SVN, GIT, or other version control tools, and working in a structured, revision-controlled software development environment.
• Experience working with embedded platforms, e.g. Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Nvidia Jetson
• Familiarity with mobile robotic subsystems such as localization, navigation, path planning, sensor fusion, and multi-agent control.
• Familiarity with data processing techniques including machine learning.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Comfortable working in an R&D environment and product development teams.
