What skills do you need to have:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 5+ years of proven experience in database administration, specifically with SQL databases (e.g., MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
• Strong understanding of database concepts, normalization, and indexing techniques.
• Knowledge of ETL tools and processes.
• Solid understanding of data security and data privacy best practices.
• Experience with cloud-based databases (e.g., Amazon RDS, Google Cloud SQL, Azure SQL Database).
• Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and tools (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift).
• Programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or C#.
• Certifications in database administration (e.g., Microsoft Certified Database Administrator, Oracle Certified Professional – plus).
• Proficiency in English and French.

Some of your responsibilities will be:

• Manage and maintain our SQL databases, ensuring data integrity, availability, and security.
• Design, develop, and implement efficient database solutions, considering performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Optimize database performance through query tuning, index optimization, and database schema refinement.
• Monitor and troubleshoot database-related issues, identifying root causes and implementing appropriate resolutions.
• Perform database backups, disaster recovery planning, and ensure data backups are completed on schedule.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and assist in the design and development of data models.
• Develop and maintain data integration processes, including ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) workflows and data pipelines.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to SQL and database management.
