Graphics Engineer @ Mindera

Description

Here at Mindera, we are building a world-class team and would love it for you to join us.

We are seeking a highly skilled and talented Graphics Engineer who is proficient in both Unity and Unreal engines. As a Graphics Engineer, you will play a key role in developing visually stunning and high-performance graphics for our projects. Your primary responsibility will be to implement and optimize graphics rendering systems, paving the way for immersive and realistic visual experiences.

You have a good understanding of Unreal Engine 5 and Unity and like to keep your code and project neat. You have proven experience as a Graphics Engineer, preferably in the gaming or interactive entertainment industry. You already have some projects/games under your belt that you have contributed to in some way (mechanics, AI, tools, interaction) and you’ve made your own renderer/game engine! You have developed libraries or game tools using C#, C++ and Blueprints, mainly to support artists and their workflows. You always keep your code versioned by using a version control system (preferably Git + Git LFS or Plastic SCM / Perforce). You are accustomed to working in a collaborative environment with people from different backgrounds (managers, artists, writers, game designers).

How does that sound?

National and international expected travelling time varies according to project/client and organisational needs. We estimate it to be between 0%-15%.

You are good at

  • Collaborating with the art and engineering teams to develop cutting-edge graphics features for our projects.
  • Implementing and optimizing graphics rendering systems in Unity and Unreal engines.
  • Developing shaders, materials, and post-processing effects to enhance visual quality.
  • Debugging and optimizing graphics-related issues to maintain smooth frame rates and high-quality visuals.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest graphics rendering techniques, technologies, and industry trends.
  • Profiling and optimization to ensure optimal utilization of hardware resources.
  • Collaborating with other engineers to integrate graphics features with other game systems, such as physics and animation.
  • Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code with proper documentation.
  • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior graphics engineers, as needed.
  • Keeping up with gaming and game development news and staying updated on the latest graphics technologies and trends.

You rock at

  • Using and customizing Unity and Unreal, including knowledge of their respective graphics pipelines and rendering systems.
  • Creating your own raster-based rendering engine or adapting an existing one.
  • Math and understanding of rendering algorithms, shading languages (such as HLSL or GLSL), and GPU architecture.
  • Developing shaders, materials, and post-processing effects.
  • Performance optimization techniques for real-time graphics.
  • Problem-solving and attention to detail.
