The Role
As a GCP Platform Engineer, you will work within a team of Engineers and Operations personnel building highly resilient, scalable, and performant GCP infrastructure in an automated and efficient manner for our clients.

Main responsibilities:
- Working in a team, building and managing our customers GCP environments and projects to enable application deployments
- Engineer solutions on GCP foundation platform using Infrastructure as Code methods (e.g., Terraform)
- Integrate, configure, deploy, and manage centrally provided standard cloud services (e.g., IAM, networking, logging, Operating systems, Containers.)
- Manage SDN in GCP
- Ensure compliance with Security and Operational risk standards (E.g., Network, Firewall, OS, Logging, Monitoring, Availability, Resiliency)
- Build and support continuous integration (CI), continuous delivery (CD), and continuous testing activities
- Engineering activities to implement patches and updates
- Support non-functional testing
- Update support and operational documentation as required
- Understanding of database and analytical technologies in the industry including MPP databases, NoSQL storage, Data Warehouse design, BI reporting, and Dashboard development

The ideal candidate for this role will have a blend of the following experience and qualities:
- Any experience of building a range of Services in GCP
- Strong understanding of DevOps principles and Infrastructure as Code concepts and techniques.
- Experience using CI/CD and available tools
- Knowledge of Security and Compliance, e.g., IAM and cloud compliance/auditing/monitoring tools
- Customer/stakeholder focus. Ability to build strong relationships with Application teams, cross-functional IT, and global/local IT teams
- Operational effectiveness - delivers solutions that align to approved design patterns and security standards
- Programming experience in one or more of the following languages: Python, Ruby, Java, JavaScript, Go, Groovy, and Scala
- Automation scripting (using scripting languages such as Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
- Ability to quickly acquire new skills and tools
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences

GCP Certifications, ideally one or more of the following: Associate Engineer, Professional Architect, Cloud Network, Cloud Security, and Data Engineer, will be very valued.
