As a Front-End Styling Developer with Altar.io's Web Software Development Engineering team, you will engage with fellow developers, putting into practice your knowledge while learning about the enterprise-grade industry-standard workflows, challenges, and the systems that we are building.

We are looking for programmers with a keen eye for design who are responsible for ensuring the alignment of web design and user experience requirements, optimizing web pages for maximum efficiency, and maintaining brand consistency across all web pages, among other duties.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Determining the structure and design of web pages;
• Ensuring user experience determines design choice;
• Striking a balance between functional and aesthetic design;
• Ensuring web design is optimized for smartphones;
• Optimizing web pages for maximum speed and scalability;
• Maintaining brand consistency throughout the design;
• Own development of parts of an application and interact with the product team;
• Interact and help fellow developers with different products;
• Deep dive into complex problems and find efficient solutions.

The Hands-On Experience We Need You to Bring to the Table:

• 1 year of professional experience with Web Application Development;
• Understanding of fundamental design principles:
  • Box Model;
  • Responsive Web Design (media queries);

• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs:
  • Code HTML and CSS to match the Designs;

• Knowledge of HTML:
  • Creation of layouts;

• Knowledge of CSS:
  • Custom Properties / CSS Variables;
  • DRY principle;

• Basic experience in SASS (SCSS/SASS):
  • Nested selectors;

• Knowledge of modern Front-End Frameworks:
  • Templating (HTML);
  • Nested Components.

The Extra Experience We’d Love to See:

• TailwindCSS experience;
• Accessibility (A11Y).

• A technical challenge to solve at home with a deadline of five days;
• A one-and-a-half-hour technical interview to talk about your skills and experience;
• A final one-hour interview to make sure we’re the right fit for you, and you’re the right fit for us.
