Lapa Studio is a technological startup from the Polygon Group with a fun, creative and innovative mindset, which is focused on the development of IoT (Internet of Things) devices and systems.

Created in 2013, it was behind the biggest product crowdfunding campaign in Portugal with the release of Lapa – a Bluetooth tracker for personal belongings, pets, and children –, and is already present in more than 80 countries.

Using Lapa technology, we are currently developing a new product that promises to revolutionize the traditional authentication, payments, and marketing methods in the soccer world, and that’s why we need you.

About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Hardware/Firmware Developer that loves to develop elegant and intuitive hardware/firmware solutions and deal with requirements from different partners and clients.

The candidate should be self-driven, flexible and willing to learn and keep up with the latest IoT and consumer electronics trends, architectures, ideas and technologies.

Skills

The Senior Hardware/Firmware Developer should be skillful and have experience in IoT development (Hardware and Firmware), with focus on RF and networking development.

The candidate should meet the following criteria:

• Bachelor, Masters, or PhD in Electrical or Electrotechnical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Informatics Engineering, Computer Science, or similar.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Embedded Software Programming: C, C++, Microchip/ARM Architectures
• Experience with networking and IoT technologies: Bluetooth (BLE), Wifi, GPS, GSM, NarrowBand-IoT, SigFox

• Experience with RF circuits and topologies used in RF Filters, RF switches, phase shifters, antennas, RF power amplifiers, and other RF front-end technologies.

• Experience working with lab tools: Oscilloscope, power meters, logic analyzer.
• We value experience in defining and creating IoT devices from hardware concept study to hardware architecture, schematic design, and PCB layout

• Experience in Agile and versioning methodologies: JIRA, Scrum, GIT
• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
• Leadership and team-work spirit
• Self-driven and willing to learn new technologies
