Engineering and Operations Team Lead (All Genders)

 

The Role:

Purpose of this role is to manage the engineering and operations activities in our Portuguese branch. Primarily to ensure smooth functioning of engineering projects and operational processes on site. In detail:

  • Setting targets for both the Portuguese subsidiary and the engineering team, identifying new business opportunities and planning actions to increase the competitiveness
  • Effectively managing and developing the engineering team, ensuring that the team has the capabilities to perform the tasks and fostering a collaborative and positive working environment. This also includes operational support.
  • Coordinate and oversee the delivery of engineering projects to ensure they are completed according to agreed schedules, budgets and quality standards
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to build relationships, understand requirements and ensure business activities meet customer needs
  • Identify bottlenecks or inefficient processes and implement appropriate actions
  • Business, budget and resource responsibility

Your professional skills: 

Dealing with your colleagues in a respectful way is important to you, as well as possessing a system of values. However, you are not lacking a good sense of humour to keep the team spirit up!

  • University degree in information technology, business engineering or similar.
  • Proven track record of several years of professional experience in a comparable position in software development, fintech or insure-tech.
  • Extensive knowledge of project management, resource planning, budgeting and process optimisation.
  • Strong leadership skills to lead and develop a team in the development process
  • Excellent communication skills, conflict management, decision making and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills to identify problems, develop solutions and implement continuous improvement activities,
  • Documented experience in project management to effectively plan, execute and complete complex projects.
  • Portuguese language skills at native level and business fluent English are a must, basic German language skills and the willingness to improve are expected
