iLoF, Porto- and Oxford-based, Artificial Intelligence and Photonics enabled MedTech company, is seeking an Embedded Systems Engineer.

Background:  Electrical Engineering/Electrical and Computer Engineering/Electronics

Skills:

• Experience with embedded software development in C or C++;
• Knowledge about embedded platforms, Device drivers and microcontrollers;
• Hands-on experience with sensors and sensor fusion;
• Experience with connectivity protocols (e.g., IEEE 802.11, Bluetooth);
• Experience with low-level communication protocols like SPI, I2C, UART, CAN; - Background in electronics and digital acquisition and signal processing.
• Experience in PCB layout, cable, and assembly drawings.
• Open-minded, Hands-on attitude and good command of English language.

Responsibilities:

• Prototype electronics layout and interaction with the bio-photonics and software teams (going through the hardware development cycle involving concept design, system requirements, component selection, Schematic and PCB layout, assembly drawings);
• Development of prototype communication protocol;
• Cooperate with external suppliers for the development of third party designs according to internal requirements/standards;
• Conduct engineering testing including test and evaluation methodologies, protocols and procedures; - Equipment, suppliers and material procurement.
