Description

We are looking for an Intermediate Systems Administrator with a mindset on automation and a strong focus security who is willing to learn and widen his knowledge. Given the necessary tools and time to learn, you will become an Orchestration and Automation Guru responsible for participating in enterprise automation projects that will address a wide range of technologies by using standard orchestration and automation tools (like Terraform, Ansible, Puppet,). You will be deploying the automation tools themselves in the required environments (i.e. development, testing, ..., production) using CI/CD systems and pipelines, but also creating automation recipes for complex tasks. Ideally when the tool itself does not address the task in hand, you'll be able to use your Python (or other) development skills to extend the required functionality.

Responsibilities

- Assist in the design and development of automation workflows
- System hardening, working with the security team and using CIS standard;

- Monitor system events to ensure health, maximum system availability and service quality
- Produce documentation regarding deployment details, configurations, operations and troubleshooting procedures
- Participate in the definition of standards, guidelines and best practices
- Perform system and Application patching

- Troubleshoot reported problems;

Qualifications

- 3+ years of experience in Linux System Administration and/or DevOps role
- Linux Scripting (Bash and Python)

Knowledge

- In-depth knowledge with Linux environments
- Familiar with Infrastructure as Code concepts and workflows
- Expertise with Orchestration and Configuration Management (one or more of Terraform, Ansible, Puppet) is a big plus
- Expertise with Source Control Management (Git, Gitlab, etc.) is a plus
- Expertise with CI/CD (Gitlab CI, Jenkins, Travis Ci, etc.) is a plus
- Experience in large-scale production deployments an asset

- Understanding of fundamental hardware concepts (including performance related ones)

- Understanding of essential TCP/IP protocols

Skills

- Oral and written comprehension of English

- Experience in administration of Red Hat Linux/CentOS

- Experience in systems hardening and security management

- Experience in administration of virtualized environments based on VMware ESXi

- Some knowledge of storage systems like NetApp

- Containerizing Applications and Services with Docker and Kubernetes or OpenShift is a big plus

- Management of proxies, web servers and load balancers, like Squid, NGINX and HAProxy
