The Role:

A Developer Advocate (DA) is an essential part in shaping the developer experience (DX) of the Critical Manufacturing Framework. The DA works primarily in two directions:

  • Developer enablement - producing adequate content to support developers and advocate for best practices when developing on the Critical Manufacturing platform. This includes documentation, interactive materials and demos
  • Engineering advisory - Connect with the developers using different channels (in person events, webinars, training sessions, day-to-day work with project teams), gather their needs and pain points and collaborate with engineering and portfolio management to design and prioritize the necessary improvements in the product roadmap
     

What you will do:

  • Building hands on demo applications, tutorials, and training content for developers working on Critical Manufacturing products
  • Creating engaging content, including technical talks, blog posts, demos, and videos, that educates developers and users on the capabilities of the Critical Manufacturing products
  • Serving as the voice of the developer by contributing to internal feedback loops for API product teams
  • Helping to identify common trends in community help and support as opportunities for product improvement (via docs, APIs, etc)

Requirements

What you must have:

  • Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar
  • Experience in a technical writing or developer advocate role
  • Able to produce easy to follow and clear technical content and documentation
  • Solid software development skills in object-oriented languages
  • Continuous improvement mindset and critical thinking, always looking for ways to challenge the status quo
  • Excellent English skills - spoken and written

What we consider a plus (not mandatory):

  • Participation in medium to large projects using agile software development methodologies
  • Experience liaising with a developer community
