JOB DESCRIPTION

BySide, one of the best companies to work for in Portugal (http://2017.mept.pt/Rankings), is seeking for a new member to join the Engineering Team.

Our platform is directly integrated and used by several banks, some of the biggest world retailers, telecommunication companies and call centers around the globe. Managing BIG Data in Real Time, BySide currently handles more than 1 million calls and 5 million voice minutes per month, providing services such as click2call, call tracking, inbound calls, IVRs, etc

As a Database Administrator, you will work on a team that owns the services that supports the scale of our business.

REQUIREMENTS

• (Proven) previous experience in one of the following technologies:

  • MySQL / MariaDB

  • Apache SOLR / ElasticSearch

• Nice to have:

  • Knowledge about big data technologies (e.g. HBase, Spark)

• We value experience with:

  • Query profiling and tuning

  • Handling very large amounts of data (scaling and availability)

• BS or MS degree in Computer science or equivalent experience

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Database backup and recovery

• Installation, maintenance, updates and patches of all the storage systems

• Handling the transfer of data from the existing systems to new platforms

• Database tuning and proper monitoring of all the systems

• Capacity planning of all the storage systems
