Location: Evora or Lisbon (Portugal)

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our team in Evora or Lisbon and working on cool Insuretech, Fintech, Blockchain and A.I. projects. We are a dynamic AI startup with clients in Switzerland, Germany, and the USA.

Responsibilities

• Build ETL processes for bringing data into data lake platforms
• Configure data visualization dashboards
• Interact with Business, Data Science and Engineering teams to define solutions
• Document processes and test solutions

You bring

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or any related degree
• 2 years of experience in a Data Engineer role
• Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets
• Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Bigquery, etc.
• General Spark knowledge with focus on PySpark (ideally also SparkR)
• Experience building and optimising - big data- data pipelines, architectures and data sets
• Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases

Nice-To-Have Skills

• Basic frontend programming skills (Javascript, HTML, CSS) to do UI building by configuration (no Angular, React or similar required)
• General understanding of analytics and machine learning, but no data science knowledge required
• Automated testing
