JOB DESCRIPTION

BySide, one of the best companies to work for in Portugal (http://2017.mept.pt/Rankings), is seeking for a new member to join the Engineering Team.

Our platform is directly integrated and used by several banks, some of the biggest world retailers, telecommunication companies and call centers around the globe. Managing BIG Data in Real Time, BySide currently handles more than 1 million calls and 5 million voice minutes per month, providing services such as click2call, call tracking, inbound calls, IVRs, etc

As a Data Engineer, you will work on a team that owns the services that supports the scale of our business.

REQUIREMENTS

• (Proven) previous development in one of following technologies:

  • MySQL

  • Apache SOLR / ElasticSearch

• Nice to have:

  • Experience working with HDFS or GlusterFS clusters

  • Knowledge about big data technologies (e.g. HBase, Spark)

• We value experience with:

  • Designing queries for relational and non-relational databases;

  • Handling very large amounts of data

  • Developing and maintaining an ETL pipeline;

• BS or MS degree in Computer science or equivalent experience;

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Modeling complex processes and scenarios into highly performant and scalable data applications;

• Collaborate with other software engineering teams, providing data engineering expertise and guidance in the design of data-backed software solutions;

• Contribute to the maintenance and development of our always growing data architecture;

• Tune queries serving both operational and analytics applications, both SQL and No-SQL

• Support machine learning pipelines and tasks
