What skills do you need to have: 

  • Master of science in a quantitative field (information technology, information management, computer science, computer engineering or equivalent).  

  • Have 5+ years of relevant experience in data programs, focused on implementing business intelligence solutions, data warehouses, data modeling, data management, data quality or supporting Master Data Management implementation activities in large complex organizations.  

  • Previous experience in managing and delivering end-to-end data projects, from business requirements definition to design and implement fit for purpose data models (including data lineage of source systems and data quality criteria / checkpoints). 

  • Experience in the definition and technical implementation of data cleansing rules and data quality initiatives. 

  • Working experience in data governance tools, principles, and processes, in complex data architectures will be a plus.  

  • Strong technological practices will be a plus 

  • Experience in Financial Services, Telecommunications and in Oil & Gas industries will be a plus, namely if in the context of data governance, risk management or digital transformation 

Some of your responsibilities will be: 

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance framework and strategy to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of our data throughout its lifecycle. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data owners, data stewards, IT, legal, and compliance, to define and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures. 

  • Identify and document data governance requirements, including data classifications, data retention, data access controls, data quality standards, and data privacy guidelines. 

  • Conduct regular data risk assessments and audits to identify potential gaps in data governance practices and recommend remediation actions. 

  • Create and maintain data dictionaries, data lineage, and data flow diagrams to provide a clear understanding of data sources, transformations, and usage across the organization. 

  • Establish and monitor data quality metrics, ensuring that data meets defined quality standards, and implement data cleansing and remediation processes as needed. 

  • Develop and deliver data governance training programs and workshops to promote data literacy and awareness among employees, ensuring compliance with data governance policies. 

  • Collaborate with IT teams to define and implement data governance tools, technologies, and platforms, including data cataloging, metadata management, and data lineage solutions. 

  • Stay updated with regulatory requirements, industry trends, and best practices related to data governance, privacy, and security and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. 

  • Act as a subject matter expert and provide guidance on data governance matters to internal stakeholders, including executives, managers, and project teams.
