We are looking for a Computer Science Teacher for Porto and Aveiro!

Mindera Education is growing and we are looking for someone to deliver a course that is engaging, fun and creative! We have big dreams at Mindera to allow all people passionate about technology to learn to program and prepare them for the world of work. Could you be the person we are looking for?

You will interact with students, developers and other special people in the company who are engaged with Mindera Education.

Cool projects where you can teach:

Mindera School, where we give every young person who has finished mandatory school and is passionate about technology, the opportunity to learn how to program and prepare them to start working. We are looking for a Computer Science Teacher passionate about humans and technology, combined with a strong methodical and planning skillset.

MindSwap, is the newest member of the Mindera's family, and we dare say it’s the cool new code academy! It’s designed to teach adults who are looking for a career change, the fundamental concepts of writing code and cover the bases of back-end and front-end development.

National and international expected traveling time varies according to project/client and organisational needs: 0%-15% estimated.

We are counting on your experience in the following areas:

  • Generic computer science knowledge (from pseudo code to Object-Oriented Programming and how to debug code)
  • High knowledge in Java
  • Version control (Git)
  • Teaching experience
  • Comfortable with both written and spoken English

Would be a plus to have good knowledge in:

  • JavaScript
  • REST
  • Relational Databases / SQL
  • SOLID principles
  • (Unit) Testing
  • Build systems (Jenkins, Travis..)
  • Code Conventions

And, of course, teaching is what you love the most!

Being able to think of people first is key for this role: communication, trust and collaborative work will be as relevant as any other skills, capability or experience.
