Job Profile

The Cloud Engineer Trainee will develop scripts to automate tasks while also, reading and reviewing others’ code to provide feedback.

The Cloud Engineer Trainee will analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution to effectively solve problems and mitigate reliability failures in a component or system.

The Cloud Engineer Trainee participates in the operational aspects discussions. This initiative is required to be in phase with the operational environment and improve the Infrastructure As A Service model.  

Key Accountabilities

• The candidate should have some knowledge in Infra as Code
• The role will involve developing immutable infrastructure in cloud environments
• Test plan development

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

Essential:

• Experience in writing code fixes and tools to solve problems  (e.g., removing duplicate elements from a list)
• Experience or previous project assignments with Data Structures and Algorithms (i.e. selecting and implementing an algorithm, using data structures to solve a problem.)
• Experience developing thorough testing solutions across testing layers (e.g., unit, functional, integration, stress testing) for your code, using one or more of the following: C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript or Python

• Experience with serialization languages using Yaml, Json or XML
• Excellent Client and inter-team communication skills
• Ability to keep calm and perform under pressure

Desirable:

• Ability to debug and optimize code and automate tasks.
• Understands the concepts of public cloud Infrastructure
• Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.
• Previous tech internships or relevant work experience programming in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go or Python.
• Knowledgeable in Infrastructure engineering tools such as Ansible
• Linux System Administration skills
• CI/CD methodologies with Git and Jenkins
