Data Management will provide conceptual, architectural and technical leadership for all aspects of the company's enterprise data warehouse and business intelligence reporting.

Support the work of the data governance council and data stewards to implement, lead the review of management processes for compliance with the organization's strategy for corporate governance of information and develop architecture policies and standards.

Description

Provide hands-on guidance and expert advice to the team responsible for the design, development, integration, tuning and production support of the cloud based data analytics stack: data management and modeling, data governance, operational data store, data warehouse, data lake, and the business intelligence reporting application (Azure Analysis Services + PowerBI)

Work with Enterprise Architecture and Engineering teams to modernize the existing Data Analytics platform and define standards for common patterns towards data acquisition, ingestion storage and analytics

Promote the concept of data democratization through self-service analytics and learning curriculum to empower citizen data analysts and scientist across the business.

Experience of working with modern cloud-based data lake & warehouse services, ideally Azure Synapse, or Google BigQuery, Hive, Presto.

Experience of working with data pipelines for transformation and quality based on Apache Spark.

Understanding of data science concepts and opensource tooling, Python, R, Keras, Tensor Flow etc.

Experience of delivering BI & data analytics programmes using an Agile methodology.

Profile

• Be a trusted partner to the Head of BI and engage with business and technology leaders to understand business strategy, articulate architectural solution options, evaluate tradeoffs and influence key decisions
• Lead the solution architecture for all BI initiatives provide technology thought leadership to the team
• Lead the architecture of enterprise logical data models, data architecture and promote Self Service Business Intelligence,
• Drive the acceptance of an enterprise view of data and its use across the enterprise,
• Provide thought leadership, best practices, and standards required to deliver effective reporting and data visualization solutions to the various business units and executives,
• Roll up sleeves and work hands-on with project teams to support objectives through the application of pragmatic architectural principles,
• Design and monitor end-user reporting tools and systems, ensuring reports are accurate and up-to-date,
• Experience, with knowledge of concepts related to Architecture, design, implementation and maintenance of data warehouses, Data Quality and BI,
• Proven experience with one or more of the following business intelligence tools end to end implementation are desirable: PowerBI, Tableau & Quicksight
• Expertise in SQL, Data Analysis and data management areas like Data modelling (Erwin), Database Design, Operational Data Stores (ODS), Data Integration, Data Quality and Data security (masking and unmasking data),
• Data modelling & solution design experience in OLTP & OLAP environment.
