ABOUT US

Dott will be Portugal's largest marketplace! We were born from a Joint Venture between Sonae and CTT, and we want to change the way people buy and sell online, and to help digitize Portuguese brands by opening their business to the world.

We have 17 product categories, and brands loved throughout the country, from the smallest to the bigger ones. We believe that there are excellent and uniquely positioned brands in Portugal!

Our goals for the next two years are to reach over five million products, from five thousand partners, as well as become Portugal’s reference marketplace.

Our headquarters are in Porto, but our team is physically divided between Porto and Lisbon.

Backend Developer

- Experience working with the JVM (Scala is a plus)

- Functional programming

- Relational and non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, Couchbase, etc)

- Unit tests and stress tests (JUnit, ScalaTest, JMeter)

- REST web services

- Microservices concepts and frameworks (Lagom, Play Framework, etc)

- Docker and container-based virtualization

- Unix command line tools

- Git concepts and commands

- Familiar with Agile methodologies and software design patterns

- Willingness to take technical and functional ownership of critical areas of the project

- Location: Porto Office
