MindProber is a high-powered and fast-moving next-generation research tech (ResTech) company for media measurement. We have built a new-generation media measurement platform that combines remote sensing and machine learning technologies to bring implicit, objective emotional engagement metrics to the industry for the first time.

Our team gathers people from cognitive neuroscience, behavioral sciences, electronics and biomedical engineering, artificial intelligence, software engineering, data analytics, and market research.

About the Role - Back-end Developer

We are looking for a qualified Back-end Developer with 3-5 years of experience. You will be working closely with our Data Science and Development teams and collaborating on innovative projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the company's backend infrastructure and APIs.

We are already setting new grounds in the Market Research field and hope your unique contribution can support and increase the demand for MindProber’s tech.

What you can expect when working with people who love science & tech (and good food):

• Work closely with the development and data science teams to ensure alignment with key goals
• Design, develop and maintain solutions for data storage and availability on media measurement platforms
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, capable of performing in demanding real-time settings
• Work with cross-functional teams including front-end and mobile developers, product managers, QA and data engineers to improve platform usability and performance, as well as design and implement new features and services
• Provide feedback to the tech lead, science, and development teams on research and industry trends
• Ensure the security, reliability, and scalability of the backend infrastructure by implementing best practices and industry standards
• Collaborate in the design, development, and maintenance the company's CI/CD pipeline to ensure continuous delivery of software updates and releases

About You

The successful candidate for this role will not just understand but thrive in a technological start-up setting.

Do you have experience working autonomously in dynamic and ambitious environments? This might be a good match for you!

Qualifications:

• Degree in computer science, software engineering or related field
• 3-5 years of experience in backend development using languages such as JavaScript and Python
• Solid understanding of backend frameworks for Node.js
• Experience with database technologies such as SQL, Postgres SQL, MongoDB, or Redis

Valued characteristics:

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with cloud-based services such as AWS (preferred), Azure, or GCP
• Experience with DevOps tools such as Docker containers, Kubernetes, or Jenkins
• Knowledge of Apache Kafka
