Looking for a good graduate to mid-level Android developer to join our team, as the primary mobile development team in one of the largest mobile gaming companies in the world. To keep things interesting for our growing team we actively develop opportunities across 6 diverse product lines, from Agri-tech to online gaming, Robotics & AI, conversation management software for contact centres, and RFID inventory management.

We are a 100% distributed team who work on projects where there is the prospect of high return and opportunities for significant innovation. We look for the angles where software and tech meets user behaviour, business processes and logistics.

All of our work is tightly managed with an agile scrum methodology, including well structured tasks defined in tickets (in either Trello or Zenhub depending on the project), with designs or mockups where appropriate.

Any API’s required will be defined beforehand where possible, but there will also be times when a “hacker” mentality will be required in order to discover how an API works, if it is not documented well from external teams.

There will be plenty of opportunities to suggest improvements to code, UX and to app behaviour, and a willingness to contribute outside of just writing code is something we look for.

We DO NOT need to support legacy code and aggressively upgrade our codebases whenever possible.

We don’t do stand-ups but as we are a distributed team we have to make sure to communicate more than usual so we use slack and have channels dedicated to each project where we discuss all issues and progress so all people involved have visibility.

We work around 40 hours per week, and there is a level of flexibility as to when you work, however, we try to overlap mostly incase we need some help, or information from a team member while working on a task.

All Android code is written in Kotlin, minimum supported Android version is currently 5.5.

We are using App Center for the build server.

If you have an interest in Nodejs & TypeScript it would be a bonus but not a requirement.
